In this case study, learn how Ricoh NZ used RICOH Spaces to create a technology-led, hybrid environment that supported employees while showcasing what a “Destination Workplace” could look like to customers at their new regional headquarters on 34 Sale Street.
An Overview
Ricoh New Zealand drives workplace transformation through innovative, future-proof solutions. Harnessing cutting-edge technology and collaboration, they develop offerings that empower customers to thrive amidst rapid shifts in the business landscape. Ricoh NZ doesn’t just solve current challenges but also empowers organisations with the agility to adapt confidently to evolving demands in a dynamic environment.
The Challenges
The necessity for sustainable, collaborative spaces
With the shift to hybrid work models, the previous space at Victoria Street struggled to deliver communication equity to a distributed workforce spread over multiple branches and locations, hindering effective collaboration and communication.
The changing role of the office further complicated matters. Desk and parking spaces were underutilised due to lower attendance, while meeting spaces were over-booked as employees came in primarily to collaborate with their peers.
The Solution
How RICOH Spaces enabled a “Destination Workplace”
Ricoh NZ gathered feedback and ideas from employees to envision a showcase hybrid workplace that would be a “Destination Workplace”. After evaluation, Ricoh NZ worked closely with Ricoh technology experts to design and build features that would create a conducive, efficient, and productive environment for on-site and remote employees.
The result was an optimised hybrid workspace at Ricoh NZ’s new head office located at 34 Sale Street. Ricoh NZ employees can now use just one platform for desk, car park, and meeting bookings, supported by a powerful visitor management system, and enjoy versatile spaces designed for efficient communication and collaboration, while administrators can effortlessly fine-tune environmental settings to create a more comfortable workspace through seamless integration with the building’s sensors, ensuring optimal working conditions at all times.
The Outcomes
Deepening collaboration while enhancing efficiency
Ricoh NZ utilised RICOH Spaces to create a modern and sustainable workplace that thrives on collaboration. This integration enabled the evolution of the office from a static environment to a dynamic space that adapts to the needs of employees and the business itself, all driven by data.
